The purpose of this study was to determine the rate of decomposition of the dolomitic limestone as evaluated by reaction change in the soil and by the determination of residual carbonates after a crop of cotton had been grown on it for from 65 to 75 days. Mg detns. were made on a few plant samples to indicate any change in the conc, of Mg in the plant due to the decomposition of the dolomitic limestone during the growing season.
