Determination of trapped plasma in the centri-fuged erythrocyte volume of normal human blood with radio-iodinated human serum albumin and radiosodium

With radio-logical methods it Was found that the error of the hematocrit reading due to incomplete cell packing was not in excess of 2% for normal human blood spun at 2080 g. for 30 min. in Wintrobe hematocrit tubes. A summary and discussion of previously published studies and of direct estimations made with Na24, nondialyzed albumin I131, and with dialyzed albumin I131 is included.
