Effect of nitrogenous and potassium fertilizers on grafted grapes The effectiveness of fertilizer under Moldavian conditions

Effect of nitrogenous and potassium fertilizers on grafted grapes The effectiveness of fertilizer under Moldavian conditions

Shtiintsa" Kishinev : 114-122

The effect of N and K fertilizers on grafted grapes (Shasla variety grafted onto seedling stock of Berlandieri X Ripariya Kober 5VV) was studied at a state farm in the Tiraspol raion since 1957. Mineral fertilizers were applied to the soil in the following amounts (in kg/ha): N 7; K2O 7; P2O5 21 - N 7; P2O5 21 - K2O 7; or P2O- 21 - N 7 - K2O 7. N fertilizers and KC1, applied when the grafts were planted, decreased the yield of the young plants and had a deleterious effect on their quality. The author suggests that the unfavorable effect of KC1 is due to its high chloride content, which facilitates the entry of Ca into the plant. Ca, in turn, neutralizes the cellular sap and thus has an unfavorable effect on the nutrition of the graft.
