Effectiveness of low volume aerial sprays for mosquito control

Aerial applications of several insecticides showed that low growing shrubs and vines give mosquito larvae more protection from low-volume sprays than do tall trees and grasses. The tests also show that small areas may be successfully treated for larvae, but these small plot treatments will reduce adult numbers very little. The addition of Bayer-39007 to Trichlorfon showed promise as a low-volume spray material. All compounds used were effective against chironomid larvae.
