Abstract
Native and introduced ladybeetles of Puerto Rico feeding on aphids become scarce and even tend to disappear none feeds on Myzus persicae, a major pest of eggplant and pepper, and most recently on tobacco. No instance of effective control by ladybeetles of the yellow aphid of sugar cane, Sipha flava, has been observed.
