Elimination of passively administered tetanus antitoxin

Equine origin tetanus antitoxin was administered to 12 patients. In 7 individuals, low titers of antitoxin resulted, with a peak around the third day and a rapid decrease thereafter. The rapid elimination of the antitoxin probably resulted from prior treatment with sera of equine origin.
