Experiences concernant l'efficacite de certains insecticides phosphores sur le Dacus de l 'olive effectuees en 1957

From a number of organic phosphoric insecticides tested against Dacus oleae, 0.03 and 0.06% Rogor (5.51-12.1 g of active substance per tree) was the most promising. The superiority of Rogor over the other compounds tested was ascertained by various methods; per cent fruit puncture by the insect, per cent mature fruit attacked, per cent escape and advanced stages of attack. This critical evaluation was done from September through December. No differences in effectiveness were observed between emulsifiable and wettable Rogor, or between the 2 concentrations used. Using Abbott's formula it was found that 97.8% of the fruit sprayed with Rogor were healthy. This was attributed to the long residual action of Rogor against the adults and to its prolonged internal activity in fruit tissues. No statistical differences were found between 2 and 3 dustings with Rogor "P" containing 3% active ingredients. Single treatment of immature fruit in August with emulsifiable and wettable Rogor containing 0.015, 0.03, and 0.06% active ingredients, or a single dusting with this insecticide were largely ineffective in controlling the insect or preventing fruit damage. The other compounds tested were inferior to Rogor; they are listed in order of decreasing effectiveness: 0.025% Parathion; 0.03% Ekatin; 0.1% Dipterex; 0.02% Ekatin; 0.025% Diazinon; 0.025, 0.05, and 0.1% Nexion.
