Experimental infections of mice and guinea pigs parenterally and through natural portals of entry II Parenteral infection of mice with anthrax bacilli

Zeitschr Hyg U Infektionskr: 275-280

Mice may be infected with anthrax spores and bacilli by intravenous and intraperitoneal injections, but larger numbers of organisms are required than by sub-cutaneous injection. This, however, is true only when agar cultures, rich in spores, are used. When vegetative forms only are used, the lethal dose is the same when any 1 of the 3 methods of injection is applied.
