Growth processes in explanted leaf cells

Growth processes in explanted leaf cells

Ber Deutsch Bot Gesell 75(11): 96-97

Mesophyll cells of Macleaya cordata were grown in submerged culture. Tracheids were differentiated, and if the cultures were transferred to agar with coconut milk roots were formed. Leaf epidermis cells of Rhoeo discolor in culture showed considerable plasmatic growth but no cell division.
