Abstract
A study of the chemical and physicochemical properties of polysaccharide A Wood 46. 23.9% hexosamines and 5.61 organic P were found. The polysaccharide had low viscosity and low laevorotation, was protein-free and practically free of nucleic acids. The N content was unusually high. It is suggested that paper chromatographic methods might reveal other components not detected in this study.
