Inheritance of two dwarf characters in Lespedeza sericea

Inheritance of two dwarf characters in Lespedeza sericea

Jour Heredity 54(2): 76-78

In Lespedeza cuneata (Dum.-Cours.) G. Don the characters dwarf-1 and dwarf-2, characterized by reduced internode length and reduced numbers of internodes, respectively, were analyzed for mode of inheritance. F2 and F3 segregation ratios were obtained for crosses of each dwarf with a normal inbred line and for the cross between the two dwarfs. Dwarfness is conditioned by a single recessive gene in each case with no evidence for linkage.
