Marine algae from some antarctic and subantarctic islands

Marine algae from some antarctic and subantarctic islands

Lunds Univ Arsskr Avd 2 41(7): 1-36

Detns. are reported and annotated for 74 spp. of a collection made by Dr. Sten Vallin, mostly from Campbell Is. and Stewart Is. south of New Zealand. Many new distribution records are included. Acrochaetium microfilum is a new sp. (p.12). A. nitophylli is a new comb. Reproductive structures are described in Microcolax botryo-carpa and Colacodasya inconspicua and the systematic positions of these genera discussed. The development of carpogonial branches and gonimoblasts is described in Chae-tangium jastigiatum.
