Measures other than spraying for the control of orchard insect pests

Measures other than spraying for the control of orchard insect pests

Jour Econ Ent 29(1): 37-43

Most of the practices mentioned relate primarily to the control of the codling moth, and include the removal and destruction of drop fruit, banding, screening of packing sheds, sterilization of orchard boxes, and similar practices. The author urges that the control program for orchard insects be brought into better balance, greater emphasis being placed on control measures other than spraying, and that the research program include greater attention to these other control practices.
