Abstract
When pure by Ouchterlony and immuno-electrophoretic analyses, 3.5 S Fractions I and II from anti-poliovirus gamma-globulin and anti-western equine encephalitis (WEE) virus gamma-globulin neutralized their respective viruses in the metabolic inhibition test, while 3.5 S crystalline Fractions III with trace contamination of Fraction II gave minimal (with poliovirus) or no neutralization (WEE virus). Pure, 3.5 S Fractions I and II from anti-WEE virus gamma-globulin did not give significant neutralization of WEE virus in the mouse, while 3.5 S Fraction HI with trace contamination of Fraction II gave significant neutralization (NI 2).
