Notes and information Substitution of thiophosphate for sulfur for greater success in combating the pests of cotton fields II Scarcity of organic insecticides in the United States due to intense attack of pests

A mixture of BHC with 3% of the gamma isomer, DDT with 5% of the technical product, and thiophosphate, with 0.25% of the active principle, was satisfactory, while dusts of BHC and sulfur were not. Thiophosphate was added to other dusts in place of S, and seemed more effective. Recent notices from U. S. A. indicate that pests, particularly grasshoppers, did great damage in June, July, and Aug., and that other pests are present in great intensity.
