On afew peculiarities of glucose metabolism of two Salmonella typhi strains with different biochemical behavior

The glucose metabolism of 2 Salmonella typhi strains belonging to the phagetype-A which differ in their behavior toward lactose were examined. The different ranges of action of glucose-6-phosphate hydrogenase of isocitrate hydrogenase, lactate hydrogenase and of succinate hydrogenase were studied. The metabolic characteristics of both strains are discussed.
