On the ionization constant of 5-ribosyluracil

Biochemistry 4(12): 2832-2835

The ionization constant of pseudouridine C has been redeter-mined; a value of pK = 8.97 rather than the previously accepted value of 9.6 is reached. The pK of pseudouridine B has also been measured and is 9.19. In addition, a simple chromatographic purification of the isomers of pseudouridine is described.
