Abstract
From 6 to 40 individuals of the following spp., Epeira insularis, E. trifolium, E. domiciliorum, E. stel-lata, E. cavatica, Argiope aurantia, A. trifasciata, were observed as to their reactions to a 128 v. d. tuning fork in various positions. Observed reactions are classified (approaching, reaching, spreading, seizing, etc.) and the circumstances in which the various species showed them are indicated.
