Four varieties of cotton were planted on six different dates at Lubbock and on five different dates at Halfway. Planting dates ranged from April 20 through June 30. There were significant differences at both locations among planting dates in the yields and quality of lint produced. Most of the differences occurred among plantings made after June 3. Significant changes in varietal performance in relation to planting date occurred in most of the characteristics studied.
