Plant succession was studied on abandoned farm lands in light sandy soil in southeastern Dunn County, near the prairie-forest border. Abundance of 25 spp. on sites abandoned for periods up to 35 years is presented. The oldest plant stage was herbaceous and of prairie type. Plants observed on undisturbed sites included those observed in the older succession stages.
