Plastic queen excluder

Plastic queen excluder

Arch Bienenk 36(2): 41-100

Manufacture of queen excluders for honey bee colonies from polyvinylchloride hard sheet plastic, of 0.5-1.5 mm thickness, similar to those already made of sheet zinc is suggested. Plastic queen excluders should be serviceable, inexpensive, easily cleaned, and should not dissipate a colony's heat, as metal excluders do.
