Primary biliary cirrhosis: Vascularization study. Contribution to the problem of terminal progression of primary biliary cirrhosis

Primary biliary cirrhosis: Vascularization study. Contribution to the problem of terminal progression of primary biliary cirrhosis

Rev Int Hepatol 15(2): 193-205

Injection of gelatin-red lead into the portal vein showed preservation of vascular, sectoral and segmental architecture in the liver of a 45-year-old man dying 6 years after diagnosis. At sub-segmental levels, conservation of a nearly normal distribution was seen. At lobular and perilobular levels, regenerating nodules were frequent, with persistence of porto-sinusoidal connections in regenerating with interporto-sinusoidal and intersinusoido-suprahepatic double diastases and an angiomatous perinodular circle.
