The sand of the beds was sterilized with chloropicrin, the cuttings with fermate. Under such conditions after 8 to 9 weeks 40-55% rooting was obtained. Treatment of the cuttings with a 0.25% soln. of indolebutyric acid, increased the rooting ratio after 8 weeks to 75%.
