Abstract
Proteins as a required nutrient must be supplied in the right amt. to growing chicks in order to attain normal growth. Among the various animal protein supplements that are now used in the P. I. for feeding poultry, particularly for growing chicks, shrimp meal is not only the most palatable but also the most profitable. Rations containing 5-40% of shrimp meal were fed to chickens to determine the proportion that would yield the best results. Data indicated that the opt. results are obtained when rations contained 25% shrimp meal, both in securing rapid growth and in reducing rate of mortality.
