Expts. are noted in which a resistant Staphylococcus aureus was made sensitive to penicillin by growing it' in contact with a penicillin-sensitive Streptococcus pyogenes. The sensitivity of the staphylococcus was thus increased some 200-fold while the streptococcus became relatively resistant.
