A number of herbicides were used to kill unwanted trees by injection into cuts through the bark and spaced about an inch apart near the tree base. Comparison has been made of the following 2,4-D [2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid], 2,4,5-T [2,4,5-trichlorophenoxy-acetic acid], a combination of 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T, tordon [4-amino, 3,5,6-trichloropicolinic acid] and a combination of tordon and one of the other herbicides. It is this last combination that was satisfactory with the largest number of species.
