Serological studies of antigenic composition of 2 influenza B strains (Pad-dington, Montgomery) were performed, using the hemoagglutination inhibition test and the neutralization test in ovo. By the hemoagglutination inhibition test the Paddington strain was found to be distantly related to the Lee strain and to the Crawley group strains. The Montgomery strain was closely related to the Lee strain. The results obtained by the hemoagglutination inhibition test and the neutralization test with Montgomery strain were not identical.
