Stellera chamaejasme Linn

Jour Indian Bot Soc 9(4): 208-210

S. chamaejasme (Thymelaeaceae) was observed and collected in the Kumaon Himalaya, alt. 12,000 ft.; at Bidang, alt. 12,000 ft.; and in central Tibet, alt. 14,700 ft. Growth habit and vegetative characters are described. The Tibet plant has larger and less hairy leaves, more flowers in a head, and less hairy ovary than the Kumaon plant. The corolla has previously been described as yellow; in the living condition it is purplish-red outside and white inside, but becomes yellow on drying.
