The free amino acid extract of ratti seeds was prepared and found to contain glycine, serine, cysteine, lysine, aspartic, acid, glutamic acid, gluta-mine, alanine, valine, abrine and phenylalanine. Besides these amino acids, two new spots have been recognised, one of which is isatin sensitive. Under the experimental conditions tryptophan was not detected.
