Studies on the Hachir5-gata bottom soil 2 On the alteration of the productivity on the expected Hachiro-gata polder land

Studies on the Hachir5-gata bottom soil 2 On the alteration of the productivity on the expected Hachiro-gata polder land

Bull Tohoku Natl Agric Expt Sta: 18

Hachiro-gata bottom soil contained large amounts of sulfide. The lowest pH value was about 3. 5. Acidification was accelerated by leaching of bottom soil because of the removal of bases. Ammonification of the bottom soil was increased by acidification and drying of soil during drainage; it was intensified by the neutralization of acidified soil by use of lime.
