Abstract
-In Coccinella reponda, C. septem-punctata and Menochilus senmaculata there are 20 chromosomes in spermatagonial metaphases, and 10 chromosomes in the primary spermatocyte. The sex determining mechanism is X-y, and the male is heterogametic. In Epilachna orientalis and_E. vigintioctopunctata the diploid chromosome complement consists of T8 elements; there are 9 chromosomes in the primary spermatocyte. The sex determining mechanism is X-Y, and again the male is heterogametic.
