Studies on the nutrition of Erwinia carotovora

Studies on the nutrition of Erwinia carotovora

Ann Inst Pasteur 105(2): 401-408

Ammonium N, present in the medium as (NH4)3PO4 gave good growth. The addition of 0.1% tryptophane stimulates growth. Asparagine, cystine and 1(+) aspartic acid were valuable N sources for this organism. Mg at 50ppm was essential for optimum growth; 20 pp. of Ca in the medium stimulates development. B, Mo, Cu, Mn, Co, Zn, and Fe were not required.
