The feeding responses of the fruit fly larvae in relation to growth and development to various foodstuffs under septic conditions have revealed that the fruit fly is a potential pest of many vegetables and fruits that are not being presently attacked. The physical factors that contribute towards the normal development of the fruit fly have been discussed and elucidated.
