The ribonucleic acids-polyphosphates complexes extracted from yeast could not be completely separated into their 2 components, neither by fractionated-precipitation methods using acids or various cations, nor by differential solubilization in dimethylformamide of their quaternary ammonium salts. However a total separation of the 2 components was achieved by electrophoretic and chromatographic methods, by dextran-gel filtration and by differential adsorption on charcoal. These results discard the existence of stable covalent bonds between the 2 components in the preparations extracted from yeast.
