Study on the time and intensity of hemorrhage in caisson workers in relation to the work activity

Study on the time and intensity of hemorrhage in caisson workers in relation to the work activity

Lavoro Umano 15(9): 420-429

The behaviour of the intensity of hemorrhage, determined by means of De Nicola and Can-dura's method (evaluation of the total bleeding and of the mean bleeding intensity) was studied on 25 caisson workers before and after the immersion into caisson for a normal period of work. The changes of the time of hemorrhage were modest, while an increase of the intensity of hemorrhage was observed, also in the cases where intial signs of caisson disease were present.
