Subacute and chronic myocardial lesions due to non-penetrating traumatic injuries

Subacute and chronic myocardial lesions due to non-penetrating traumatic injuries

Nordisk Med 2(16): 1157-1166

38 cases of myocardial lesions with a protracted course and due to nonpenetrating, blunt injuries are reviewed. Blunt lesions may cause any of the various myocardial symptoms known. Perpetual arrhythmia was present in 1/5, and angina pectoris in almost all of the cases. Traumatic auriculo-ventricular block is not excessively rare. The collected data include 7 cases of traumatic coronary thrombosis.
