Abstract
The classification of the soils of Porto Rico has been undertaken by the Insular Experiment Station in cooperation with the Bureau of Chemistry and Soils of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. A brief description is given of the procedure followed in making a survey and classification of soils and the subsequent preparation of maps and reports. The value of the report to scientists, farmers, bankers and teachers of agriculture is pointed out.
