The age factor in the appearance of allergic reactions in tuberculous cattle

The age factor in the appearance of allergic reactions in tuberculous cattle

Sb Rabot Leningrad Vet Inst (16): 105-109

The appearance of allergic reactions (AR) in cattle with tuberculosis (1300 head) is in direct relation to age of the animals. Unsatisfactory fattening (besides cachexia) has no effect on the intensity of the AR in young animals. In old animals, with poor nutrition, tuberculin reactions were weaker and more often doubtful. To confirm tuberculosis in the latter, a 2d diagnostic tuberculin test is mandatory.
