Data show that there is a better correlation between the amounts of nutrients from potato leaves by acetate or citrate buffers and the total amounts of the nutri-ents, than by those in malonate or succinate extracts. Mean values for nutrients in the four extractants used, over all sam-plings, give as good an indication of nutrient status, in relation to fertilizer treatment and crop yield, as that given by the more laborious method of total analysis.
