The large increase in area-dosage required for satisfactory control as the red locust increase in size could not be explained alone by this size increase. To achieve 99% control of 2d, 3d and 6th instar locusts, it was necessary to use 3, 10 and 105 lb., respectively, of 6% BHC. DNC was not as satisfactory as BHC for control.
