The effect of fruit tree red spider mite infestation on yield and growth of fruit trees

The influence of red spider mite attack on apple trees was investigated by controlling the mite at different times of the season. The influence of attack, occurring only in the beginning of the year, was observed during the whole season. The attack of the mite causes decrease of the weight of the fruits even if the attack takes place early in the season; it stimulates leafdrop, decreases the shoot length and the number of clusters formed.
