The purpose of the investigation was to determine whether products can be prepared from tall oil fatty acid distillates which would be useful ingredients of animal fodders. Preliminary results are presented which suggest that as far as the fatty acid composition, resin acid content and the amount of unsaponifiables are concerned, the distillate can be expected to fulfil the requirements of a suitable fodder ingredient.
