Injection of 1.0 mg methylene blue or of 0.1 mg brilliant cresyl blue into mice who had been inoculated with ascites-cells resulted in prolongation of life for most, and a terminal (100-day) survivorship rate of about 30%, compared to 100% mortality for the controls.
