It appears from literature that two different fungi have been isolated from rhizomes of Corallorhiza trifida and that several problems are left unsolved by previous researches. Therefore, the A. has studied specimens of C. trifida from several European localities some distance apart. He found only a mycelium identical to the one described by Burgeff. The A. gives its morphological characters and describes fungal invasion in the rhizome of C. trifida.
