The relationships of five species of the Asiatic natricine snake genus Amphiesma

Five species of the natricine snake genus Amphiesma are reported on in detail. These are associated into 2 species groups: the vibakari group (vibakari, popei, and sauteri) and the pryeri group (pryeri and craspedogaster). Two new subspecies of A. sauteri (A. s. maximus and A. s. bouretti) are described.
