During the winter of 1950-51, the effect of TEG on the incidence of acute respiratory diseases among Navy recruits living in two barracks was observed. Each barrack contained 4 dormitories. A concn. of TEG usually in excess of 2.5. per liter of air was maintained in one dormitory and lesser concns. were maintained in a 2d dormitory of each barrack. The remaining dormitories served as controls.
