Tordon for the control of woody rangeland species in the western United States

Down to Earth 19(3): 10-13

ISSN/ISBN: 0012-5792

The principal species where the tests were conducted were poison oak (Rhus diversiloba), manzanita (Arctostaphylos sp.), Chamise (Adenostoma fasciculatum), coffeeberry (Rhamnus californica), mountain misery (Chamaebatis foliosa Macartney rose (Rosa bracteata), mesquite (Prosopis juliflora). prickly pear (Opuntia sp.) and huisache (Acacia farnesiana). Leaf-stem application of tordon (4-amino 3,5,6-trichloropicolinic acid) in spring gave better control than did comparable applications of 2,4-D or 1,4,5-T.
