Treatment of hydrocalycosis

Treatment of hydrocalycosis

Urol Nefrologiya 30(5): 22-24

Hydro-calycosis, or retention dilatation of the renal calyceis, develops as the result of functional insufficiency of its neuromuscular apparatus due to inflammatory changes of the supernumerary vessel or calculus, obturating the neck of the calyx. Resection of the affected pole of the kidney is indicated in hydrocalycosis of the lower or upper calyx.
