Treatment of tic douloureux with G-32883

Dis Nerv Syst 27(9): 600-603
Treatment of tic douloureux with G-32883
A brief review of a new anticonvulsant G-32883 (carbamazepine) is presented with its specific effectiveness for symptomatic relief from tic douloureux (trigeminal neuralgia) which in the past had only unsatisfactorily responded to medical treatment measures. This new compound appears to obviate the need for mutilating surgical treatment, in most cases, and thus represents an important addition to the physician's therapeutic ar-mentarium. One case example is given.
