A data processing system for shallow seismic refraction data

There are more than ten methods for interpreting shallow seismic refraction data. In this paper the four commonly-used techniques, i. e. the intercept time method, the to method, the Hales method, and the time field method, are integrated into a microcomputer system to achieve normalization, systematization and automation in the interpretation of refraction data. This integrated interpretation can also increase reliability. The software was compiled in FORTRAN, and the processing and plotting were done on a DUAL-68000 microcomputer.
